Far too many times we found ourselves dealing with a number of logistics problems. The various organizations and foundations hosting our concerts were not always able to achieve the material we needed and this obstacle often conditioned our
whole musical experience.
Through “Suitcase”, we aspire to go on a more reasonable and sort of “artificial” path, based on the use of an easy transportable instrumentations.
The following items are allowed: Snare Drum, Alto or Soprano Sax and little objects. The composers can use also the electronics, but have to reflects the criteria of the project, so just electronic “easy transportable” and activated by the performer on stage.
The composers chosen for this project are very different from each other but they have as their common denominator the fact of knowing how to work with limited material. Suitcase wants to highlight the hybridity of the instruments, sounds and concepts highlighted by the composers. The project contains 4 different pieces, with 3 new commission to: Maja Bosnić, Julien Malaussena and Stanislas Pili. The fourth one is a piece written by Maria Teresa Treccozzi, “Orazion Picciola” that It is already been premiered by the Duo and It was, in fact, the starting point from which we took the idea of Suitcase.
